Cake Topper: Precious Moment's Mori + Reci Prenup Pictorial

Cake toppers! Oftentimes, this is one of those we do not normally put too much of our attention.  Why? Because it usually comes with our catering package, or maybe because it is not too “pansinin” in our big day or maybe because it just doesn’t seem to be a part of our checklist. =) For us, we did not initially plan to have one too, until we met Mori and Reci.

Mori & Reci Prenup Pictorial

Allow us to share with you our cutesy cake topper! =) We were inspired by Precious Moments when we visited The Wedding Library at SM Megamall. They have these cute toppers which, were as big rag dolls (oh yes they are big enough to be hugged and I wonder how can they be toppers hehehe!) but is just too cute to be left unnoticed.  Unfortunately, Hubby and I planned to have just a small wedding cake and so they obviously will not fit.  We tried to ask if they have smaller versions of those but apparently it has been out of stock for months already.  Hoping, we left our contact numbers and email addresses just in case smaller versions are delivered to them.

they are such a cute couple

As we walk towards the parking lot, we ran across a kiosk of Precious Memories. Voila! It says “Closing Out Sale” up to70% off.   There were a lot of cute little ceramic figurines and we were hoping we can find something which we can use as our own cake topper.  We had a few selections until we finally found the one!  Meet MORI and RECI! =)

we asked mori and reci to act like they are kissing :)

ultra-zoom mode =P

It has been a habit of me to name my things and these two had theirs coming from their own brand names.  They were sooo cute I can’t help but at look at them and feel sooo happy and light! They look very innocent and carefree!  Best of all we got them at 70% off so the price is not the normal pricey Precious Moments stuff.  Such a wonderful deal!

they are just soo adorable!

one last shot for the prenup =)

Happy Preps to all and hoping you can find your own cake toppers too!

Photo booth: Vida Aenlle’s Shutterbox Booked!

Booking a Photo booth supplier is confusing.  They practically offer the same package and within the same range of rate.  What will set them apart is the quality of the picture, the layouts, variation of props, printing time, freebies and the staff who will be assisting you in your special day.

Shutterbox was the first photo booth we have tried.  We were supposed to book our catering supplier that day but they were incidentally at the event held at Light of Love Events Place.  We were frustrated on how the catering service turned out and so we tried to look around and see what else we can find.   Our attention was caught by the save-the-day magnets, key chains and picture post cards.  We initially thought it was nice-to-have but it will certainly add up to our budget.  Just the same, we tried Shutterbox and ended up having fun.  J We were impressed on how fast the picture was printed while keeping the colors vibrant and alive.

Short of time, we left the event and headed off to Weddings and Beyond Bridal Fair.   Our goal back then was to book a photographer, but as soon as we entered the wedding fair, a PhotoMan asked us to stop for a while and pose.  We then thought “uso na pala talaga eto ngayon!” (This is already becoming a fad). There was an alley of various photo booths and you will go crazy trying each one of them. I think we have tried 7 photo booths, just to compare the quality of output and processing time. It was a lot of fun though J and this time we thought it is no longer a nice-to-have; we should already get one! (hehehe).  We also thought that it will be great to use as souvenirs for our guests.

Among all the others, Shutterbox offered the most number of freebies.  To name a few -  a package one price lower than the usual, save-the-date magnets, free original back-draft and layout, not to mention uberly cheerful and helpful staff.  We had a handful of questions and Vida was there to shed light on those.  The staff, quality of the picture and their processing time convinced us to finally book them.

For those of you out there who is considering a Photo booth, I hope this one will help you decide. J

Happy preps! J

Wedding Preps!

Preps! Preps! Preps!

Being a bride to be is a woman’s dream come true!  It is indeed one of the happiest moments in my life!

The moment I said yes, I can no longer help but think about my wedding to be.  The theme, the motif, the number of guests, the location, the church, the date, the time and the list just goes on.

Getting the snap on how to start the preps is one of the most difficult tasks where budget and time might take back seat for a while.  However, that shouldn’t really be the case. Each area has to be taken one step at a time while relishing every moment of it.  It was very helpful to have wedding magazines handy.  Super helpful are Metro Weddings, Wedding Belle and Martha Stewart. It provides several inspirations, to dos and not tos, lotsa wonderful ideas and even checklists which you can use for the entire wedding prep.  Thanks to my best friend Katey Bear and cousin Riz who provided all these inspirations to me.  They too are just excited just like I!

We started our planning by creating our intended budget for the wedding.  We initially didn’t have an idea and so H2B and I tried to jot rough estimates which eventually ballooned when we already started scouting and booking.  Still, we just keep it within the budget although the current amount was already increased as compared to what we previously planned.  Wedding fairs are also heaven sent to us soon-to-weds as they provide us a wedding wonderland!  Be careful though, as your attendance to each fair might be too overwhelming.  What’s good about them are the discounted rates, the pluses and the convenience of comparing the suppliers done within a day or two.

Certainly, we still have a long way to go!  We have booked several suppliers already but we’re still setting our schedules on the numerous meetings and sessions with them.  Everything is yet to be finalized.  But am just soo glad I am experiencing this wonderful time of my life!  Am sure a lot of you out there feel the same way too! ;)

Happy preps to all!!!

Hair and Make-Up: Mel Cruz Booked!

HMUA is one of the most difficult suppliers to book because similar to our bridal gown it can make or break our wedding. I did not have much time doing several make-up trials.  Although, I took time to scout and talk to a few make-up artists that I liked.  What caught my attention about Mel Cruz is her skill in improving eyebags which is a major... major... dilemma for me. I then started to browse her before and after coffee book and that made me decide to personal try it on my face.

Her type of make-up style looks like a fresh-looking face without appearing heavy with the make-up.  Personally, I think my facial features were not changed in a way I’m no longer myself but was just enhanced just the way I like it.

Make-up aside, she was very friendly and accommodating.  She did not force me to book her at once to avail of a discount contrary to other make-up artists who will not let you observe the reaction of the make-up on your face.  She even advised me to take note of anything I dislike about it especially after a few hours I had it on. More so, she guaranteed that I can still avail of the bridal fair discount even if I decide to book her after the fair.  Incidentally, I had an unplanned gimik that same day where I was able to wear the traditional make-up for almost 11 hours (5 pm – 4 am whew!).  And it doesn’t stop there, she even asked me to try her airbrush make-up for free if I wish and no commitments at all! J

For me “wala na akong hahanapin pa, hindi kasi siya mabilang sa trials and amount of make-up na gagamitin”.   Try niyo siya so that you can see for yourself. J

Groom's wear: Onésimus' Suits and Barong Sale at the SM Megamall Branch

Obhet handing over my suit

This store is my first choice since two of my friends decided to acquire their services to tailor their barong and suit.  W2B and I went to Onésimus last October 2 just to ask for how much would a tailored suit cost; hoping to get hold of their suit and shirt sale.   We went first to the factory outlet in Paragon Plaza and looked for a RTW suit just to get the feel of it, but their branch here presented a majority of extra large sizes so we headed off to their SM Megamall branch.

We were not expecting that it was going to be a hassle free visit. We instantly saw a modernized slim fit cut which will flatter my “oozing broad shoulders” (toink i got a slap from W2B hehehe).  The fabric was what W2B was exactly looking for, not the typical Italian/German wool with the puffy shoulder pads.  The color came in two kinds: charcoal gray and light gray, both of which are within our line of standard.   I got too excited to try it on and so I requested for the slacks.   When I saw it on me it was like honey for the bees, a Coffeemate for my coffee and a Dom for my Roni (this time I got a smack from W2B harharhar).

The staff and manager were friendly and accommodating.  Their expertise in what they do cuts them above the rest.  Obhet acted like he was our personal assistant.  He knows exactly what to say in terms of size appreciation and combination.  He sort of conducted a Suit-101 orientation for us who do not exactly know how to wear one.   It did not take us more than a day to decide whether to buy or not.  Kaching!!!

Yesterday we picked up my 4-piece suit, fully altered, delicately steamed pressed, and ready to wear.   Also, we had a little fun taking pictures with the great staff of Onésimus Megamall branch.  Our Special thanks to the wonderful team of Kenneth Aguilar, Obhet Orian, Mark Mariano, Edu Cabuang, Rosita Bellen, and Mary Grace Girado.  God bless Onésimus!

Wedding Expo Philippines Raffle Draw by Themes & Motifs and Goldenhills Jewelry

Last September 25, the biggest, most comprehensive and longest running wedding fair in the country was once again launched by Themes & Motifs.  Three hundred seventy suppliers were gathered at the 6000 sqm. SMX convention centre creating a Wedding Wonderland.  (My eyes totally dropped when I saw the site! hehehe.) We were uberly excited especially when we found out that 2 of their major sponsors are our suppliers.

We spent 7 hours in the fair. Nope, it wasn’t long, 7 hours is actually not long enough if you are in wonderland and when you’re getting nothing but good rates and surprising packages.  We were able to gather only 9 tickets and we were so blessed to have won the Diamonds Promo by Goldenhills!  Oh yes! It was indeed an early wedding gift when our Account Exec. Kenny from Light of Love called to inform us that h2b was drawn as the winner. (I Remember him saying "Di nga!!!", and every time we tell this to our friends and family we get the same reaction "Di nga!!!") We didn’t want to believe at first but it was later on confirmed with Themes and Motifs and from then we were so excited to see the actual ring. We initially booked Goldenhills for our wedding ring but their gift was definitely more unique and expensive than our choice. Haay, we’re so happy talaga! J

For all those soon to weds like us, take your time to go to various bridal fairs. This was our 5th attendance for bridal fairs held since last August and it was all worth it. It will really help you compare and decide through various suppliers plus more freebies and discounts are given away.  Who knows, you’re honeymoon could have been sponsored too or you might just be the next Diamond wedding ring winner? J

Last Monday, we were able to claim our certificate with the assistance of Armel Inopia and Ermie Osal.  Arnel was there and kind enough to took pictures with us.  Happy Preps to all and thank you to Kenny, Goldenhills, Dhalee, Themes and Motiffs, Ermie and Armel!
